In entering the globalization era or better known as the global market, people are demanded to be more professional. Based on the reality, students must have more skill, knowledge, and experience. To face the competition in looking for job D-III English Program Merdeka University Malang has On the Job Training Program (OJT) for the students. During OJT Program, the writer did her OJT at PT. Taman Bentoel Sengkaling as Customer Service and Information Center staff. She learnt about how to handle the visitorÂ’s complaints, product knowledge, as well as administrative skills. To do all of these jobs she needed to master good communication and administrative skills to promote Taman Rekreasi Sengkaling to the public. When the writer was positioned as Customer Service staff, she faced both internal and external problems. However, she found the solutions to the problems and she did it well. According to the writerÂ’s experience, OJT Program can be a means to shape the students working attitude and sharpen their individual skills so they become professional workers who are responsible and skillful to do the job. The writer entitled her final report as The Essentials of Good Communication Skills to Assist the Customer service of Marketing Department at Taman Rekreasi Sengkaling because that was what she learned during her OJT besides the fact that she was interested to be a Customer Service staff and because communication is very important to promote product knowledge like tourism spots to the public at large. The writer expects that D-III English Program can enhance the curriculum and teaching-learning method to produce better graduates in the future.
